QUICK BACKGROUND INFO

Chris began doing magic at age seven but there were no magic shops close to him.

Most of the magic was from the back of comic books and later Tannen’s Catalog.

After doing a four year stint in the Navy, Chris moved to Canton, Ohio where he joined

I.B.M. Ring two. Chris went into a program for restaurant management and shortly got

transferred to Madison, WI. It was there that he came up with an idea for a magically

themed restaurant, got a backer and partner and opened “The Magic Moment” in Sarasota

FL. (1977) It was an immediate hit. There was a secret entrance, the waiters magically

produced the menu, silk screened on a handkerchief , all the items had magical names

such as Houdini’s Choice, (steak & Lobster) Keller’s Catch, (fish of the day), Merlin’s Mystery

(New York Strip) etc. Chris and a team of local magicians performed table magic after

dinner at each table. In the early 80’s the backer sold the property for condos. Chris

moved to Indianapolis IN and opened “Illusions restaurant” and again it was a huge hit.

A few years later the backer again sold the property. Chris moved to Newburgh, IN and

started working in the sign business in sales. While working his normal day job, Chris

continued to do magic and has come up with several ideas that he produces now and
